I look forward to reading more Ellie! Iā€™m a photographer myself, with an interest in mindfulness and self-compassion, and think mindful photography is a brilliant area to explore! šŸ¤—

Thank you Anna; I came to it quite organically, almost without realising; I think a lot of us who love photography may have had similar experiences in this way. Do let me know if there is an avenue of mindful photography you'd like me to highlight.

Did your photography lead you to do your Masters? Itā€™s such an interesting topic! Iā€™m curious if youā€™ve come across the photography Positive Psychology intervention? Iā€™m yet to do it, but really want to explore this intersection of photography, mindfulness and coaching

I actually practiced Mindfulness first, and photography came afterwards and as a part of my practice! I have come across the psychology intervention it was really interesting - Iā€™ll be referencing it in my degree. I really recommend Sophie Howarthā€™s book The Mindful Photographer if you are looking to explore more šŸ˜

Ahh thatā€™s so interesting that it was the other way round! Iā€™m not sure why I assumed that it must have been photography that came first! How long have you been practicing mindfulness for?

Well over 10 years now - following therapy and then on my own for many years. Now I have a formal and informal practice with mindfulness teachers, and I'm training to teach it myself. Fingers crossed I'll get there!

Hi Ellie, I loved listening to this. You have a lovely way of communicating and I enjoyed the mindfulness practice at the end of the recording. Iā€™m going to follow along with this. I am not a photographer but I have an iPhone with a pretty good camera on it so Iā€™ll start with that.

I think this is great!! thanks for putting it together. I think a lot of people will really enjoy it.

Hey Rich! Thank you so much for your kind words, and for listening! I really hope you enjoy exploring with your camera. As you know, there is absolutely no need to have any fancy camera or kit. Your iPhone is perfect; in fact itā€™s ideal as you can carry it so easily. Really excited to see what you capture!

Just finished your first episode Ellie. It was really good and I enjoyed listening to it. You have a calming presence and it is very inviting. I could feel your passion for the topic during the episode and I noticed an increased interest to try some mindful photography myself. Congrats on getting this started. Excited to see where it goes and what guests you may have on one day.
